Description
Assists in the Afterschool Sports - Track program at track meets held on Saturdays during track season, from 7am to 6pm.
Examples of Duties
Various duties encompassing but not limited to registration, field events, entry fees, finish line, and trash pick up,
Maintains appropriate customer service attitude. Reports accidents and unsafe conditions as they occur. Performs related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
The following represent the typical qualifications required for this position and are dependent on the program assigned. Some programs may require additional qualifications specific to program needs.
All Recreation Leaders require knowledge of the specific activity assigned. Cash handling and math skills may be required. Must be able to work well with co-workers, participants, and the public; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to correction and feedback from a supervisor.
Recreation Leader level I requires previous participation and/or experience working in the specific recreational area assigned. Leadership, customer service, and computer experience desired.
Recreation Leader level II and higher additional requirements: minimum of 18 years old and one year experience in the specific area assigned with some leadership experience required.
Supplemental Information
Recreation Leaders can be assigned to work in any of the following work environments: office, classroom, warehouse, gymnasium, various sports courts/fields. Facility and/or activity set-up, take-down, and clean-up. Some lifting may be required. Regularly interacts and communicates with participants, co-workers, supervisors, and the public. The qualification requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of the job.
