Our Client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop there pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC.
Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement to oversee the day-to-day management of major commodities and supplier groups for hyperscale data center construction projects. This role is pivotal in translating procurement strategy into actionable sourcing plans, managing supplier performance, and ensuring critical materials and services are available when needed. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience managing high-value, long-lead commodities, with a keen understanding of how procurement decisions impact project schedules and cash flow.
Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement for major commodity groups such as electrical equipment, mechanical systems, and construction services.
- Develop and execute sourcing plans aligned with project pipelines.
- Maintain capacity and demand alignment with key suppliers.
- Oversee supplier relationships, tracking performance, schedule adherence, and quality compliance.
- Lead contract execution and negotiations in coordination with the Director, Procurement.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and cash flow forecasts.
- Execute vendor onboarding processes and maintain supplier records.
- Monitor market conditions and develop supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications: - 10-15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Strong experience managing construction or infrastructure commodities and high-value, long-lead equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple supplier groups and execute contracts in fast-paced environments.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Existing supplier relationships in electrical and mechanical equipment markets.
- Experience supporting fast-track construction programs.
- Familiarity with contract law and risk allocation principles.
