Description
The Office of Water Programs (OWP) at Sacramento State is seeking to hire one Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Subject Matter Expert to support the development and implementation of technical revisions and updates to training courses and manuals. This position will help ensure that all instructional content remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with current industry practices, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements across the water sector.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one account per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI position for a different UEI position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice

Work Schedule
Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Casual employees are limited to 19.5 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday).
Compensation
70.00$ - $80.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Environmental Engineering or in Environmental Engineering.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professional engineering license.
- Demonstrated experience operating a drinking water and/or wastewater treatment plant.
- Grade 5 Drinking Water Treatment and/or Wastewater Treatment Certification.
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in the field of environmental engineering with an increased level of responsibility in technical oversight of engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze environmental laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to review and write technical project reports and documents.
Preferred Qualifications- Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater treatment design.
Duties and Responsibilities- Review and analyze existing training course materials and manuals to identify outdated content, technical inaccuracies, or opportunities for improvement.
- Research and integrate current regulations, industry standards, and emerging technologies in the water and wastewater sectors into instructional materials.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and staff to validate and verify technical content updates.
- Draft and edit technical text, diagrams, tables, and graphics to ensure clarity, accuracy, and instructional effectiveness.
- Maintain version control and documentation for all revisions made to training materials.
- Ensure instructional content complies with relevant certification and continuing education requirements.
- Provide technical support during course development cycles, including testing of new content and reviewing feedback from students.
- Track regulatory and industry changes that may impact training content and proactively recommend necessary updates.
- Assist with the development of new courses or modules to address gaps in the existing training offerings.
- Develop questions, solutions, and educational materials, including but not li00mited to presentation slides and slide decks.
- Contribute to the design of accessible and user-friendly content for both print and online training platforms.

Working Conditions Work is performed in an hybrid setting.

The decision to permit an employee to work from home is at the discretion of the supervisor or employer and may, at any time and with or without cause, unilaterally terminate the option to work from home.
