Accounting Manager, Cost Accounting

Description:

We are partnering with a client in the Bakersfield area seeking a Cost Accounting Manger to join their team. You will play a crucial role in managing inventory valuation and costing functions. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $115,000 to $130,000 per year.

Job Description:

  • Assume ownership of inventory valuation and costing functions.
  • Enhance costing methodology to provide optimal decision-making insights.
  • Collaborate with management to refine reporting and presentation of costing and inventory valuation data.
  • Monitor and analyze final pool adjustments related to spray operations, equipment, and general labor pools during crop and calendar year-end processes.
  • Develop, review, and maintain cost accounting and inventory processes, including management inventories.
  • Assist the accounting team in devising and implementing best practices for accounting processes and controls.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter with exceptional accounting project management capabilities.
  • Ability to self-monitor progress and deliverables with a high level of accountability and urgency.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with integrated ERP systems and their implementation.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 5+ years of public and/or agricultural accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of costing experience.
