Summary:

South Valley Farms is seeking Laborers to assist in the day-to-day operational duties which may include harvest support, operating heavy machinery and general maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Upkeep appearance by repairing farm buildings, fences,and other structures.
• Operate farm and heavy equipment such as loaders, harvesters, tractors, skid loader, and trucks.
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
• Daily work may include independent tasks and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish. Bilingual helpful, but not required.
• History of working well with others.
• Possess a proactive, self-starter attitude.
• Ability to work long hours, weekends, holidays, and/or off shifts.
• Mechanical aptitude helpful, but not required.
• Valid in-state driver's license required for some positions.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• May be required to adjust or move certain mechanical parts and occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity is required for operation of certain machinery, hand sorting, and computers.
• Computer skills required for certain positions including familiarity with Excel and 10 key.

• Capacidad para aprobar un examen antidrogas previo al empleo.
• Se requiere estar de pie, caminar, sentarse, usar las manos para manipular objetos, alcanzar con brazos y manos, y hablar o escuchar. Ocasionalmente levantar y/o mover hasta 70 libras.
• Se requiere visión cercana, lejana, percepción de colores, visión periférica, percepción de profundidad y capacidad para ajustar el enfoque.
• Puede ser necesario ajustar o mover piezas mecánicas y ocasionalmente trabajar en condiciones climáticas externas.
• Se requiere destreza manual para operar maquinaria, clasificación manual y computadoras.
