Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) -Automation & Control Valves
Location: Open / Remote (Must be willing to travel ~50%)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $128K - $192K base salary
Bonus: 20% annual bonus

Role Summary:

A leading organization within the Automation & Control Valve space is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Anti-Surge and Severe Service applications. This individual will serve as the technical and commercial authority for these applications, supporting sales and commercial operations while collaborating globally with cross-functional teams.

The SME will play a key role in driving bookings, revenue, and profitability by defining application guidelines, supporting product development, and strengthening market positioning for Anti-Surge and Severe Service solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expand market presence and bookings related to Anti-Surge and Severe Service applications
• Serve as the go-to technical expert for Sales and Commercial Operations when specifying products
• Collaborate with Commercial Operations to define application guidelines and optimal technical/commercial solutions
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to develop or customize products, including required certifications
• Support Sales teams with vendor list inclusion and RFQ readiness
• Develop insights and recommendations related to market-level pricing and service requirements
• Analyze competitive offerings and identify differentiation strategies
• Develop and deliver training materials to improve organizational knowledge across functions
• Collaborate globally across regions and departments

Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in anti-surge valves and severe service applications through education and/or experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or related roles
• Ability to interface effectively across global regions and cross-functional teams
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused, high-urgency mindset
• Ability to produce professional reports and presentations
• Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box
• Willingness to travel 50% or more globally

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
