We are seeking a visionary Director of Agentic AI to lead the design and deployment of autonomous and semi-autonomous AI systems that redefine diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and personalized medicine. This leader will shape and execute our Agentic AI strategy, forge strategic partnerships, and translate breakthrough research into scalable, real-world healthcare innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

AI Strategy and Vision

  • Defining and executing the strategic roadmap for Agentic AI across healthcare, aligning innovation with clinical, operational, and regulatory priorities.
  • Identifying and developing new AI-driven business opportunities in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Translating emerging AI capabilities into product strategies and sustainable value creation for Siemens Healthineers.
AI Research & Development Leadership
  • Leading research and development of autonomous and semi-autonomous systems that enhance clinical decision-making, workflow automation, and personalized care.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of next-generation Agentic AI models capable of reasoning, planning, and acting autonomously in healthcare settings.
  • Partnering with clinicians, data scientists, and engineers to bridge cutting-edge AI innovation with validated medical applications.
  • Defining and tracking key performance metrics (KPIs) and clinical validation benchmarks for AI-driven systems.
Integration & Collaboration
  • Driving integration of large-scale, multimodal AI systems across imaging, EHR, and real-time monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborating with universities, government agencies, and healthcare providers to accelerate translation of research to clinical practice.
  • Guiding the transition from prototype to deployment within hospitals, diagnostics, and digital health platforms.
AI Leadership & Talent Development
  • Building and leading a world-class team of AI researchers, engineers, and domain experts focused on agentic innovation.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and ethical innovation.
  • Mentoring emerging AI talent and advancing scientific excellence across the DTI organization.
Ethics, Safety, and Compliance
  • Ensuring AI systems meet clinical-grade standards for safety, reliability, and interpretability.
  • Embedding responsible-AI principles and compliance with FDA, MDR, HIPAA, and emerging global AI regulations.
  • Promoting research in AI safety, fairness, and transparency.
Industry Representation and Thought Leadership
  • Representing Siemens Healthineers in AI policy, academic, and industry forums.
  • Establishing the company as a recognized leader in Agentic AI through publications, conferences, and cross-sector partnerships.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Learning, Computational Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in AI research, development, or enterprise AI strategy.
  • Deep expertise in Agentic AI, including multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, and autonomous decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of AI planning, reasoning, and self-improving architectures.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), cognitive architectures, and human-AI collaboration.
  • Proficiency with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and languages (Python, C++, Julia).
  • Familiarity with simulation environments (OpenAI Gym, MuJoCo) and real-world agent deployment.
  • Proven ability to translate AI research into commercial or clinical products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in medical imaging, robotics, or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, neurosymbolic AI, and hybrid reasoning systems.
  • Record of patents, publications, and research leadership in AI or healthcare.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to identify emerging AI business opportunities.
  • Global perspective on AI markets, standards, and regulations.

The base pay range for this position is:

$185,340 - $254,848

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
