Lead Engineering Modernization Across a Live SaaS Platform
Own the systems, integrations, and infrastructure behind a growing EdTech platform used at scale.
Role Snapshot
Role: Head of Engineering
Location/Type: Remote • United States
Pay: $190K-$210K base + $30K bonus
Schedule: Full-time • Flexible US hours
You'll lead a small engineering team through platform modernization, integrations, and scale. This role is hands-on. You'll write code, design systems, and own production reliability while guiding the team forward post-acquisition.
What You'll Do
- Lead engineering execution across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Architect and modernize Node.js and Vue-based applications
- Design and support integrations with external systems and LMSs
- Own cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines in AWS
- Maintain and improve production system reliability and uptime
- Partner with product to turn business needs into shipped software
- Set standards for architecture, code quality, and SDLC practices
- 5+ years building JavaScript applications in production
- Strong Node.js backend experience using Express
- Frontend experience with Vue.js; Quasar strongly preferred
- Experience designing and maintaining Web APIs on Windows and web platforms
- Relational database experience with MySQL or Postgres
- Proven architectural design experience for scalable systems
- Integration experience across multiple systems
- Solid grasp of SDLC methods, tools, and delivery workflows
- Experience maintaining a live production website
- Hands-on DevOps experience, including Terraform or equivalent IaC tools
- Familiarity with build and deployment pipelines
- US work authorization; no visa sponsorship
- EdTech background or LMS experience
- AWS experience across ECS, EC2, RDS, ELB
- Docker-based container workflows
