Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Designer with 20+ years of heavy industrial and power plant design experience. This role requires expertise in 3D structural design and detailing, with the ability to lead complex design packages for utility and industrial projects. The successful candidate will create and review structural steel, reinforced concrete, and ductwork designs, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support field verification activities to ensure constructability and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce 3D models and detailed design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and ductwork.
• Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, and material takeoffs to support cost estimates and project planning.
• Review vendor shop fabrication drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Conduct site walk-downs for field verification and constructability assessments.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines, clients, contractors, and plant staff to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate drawing notes and documentation.

• Education: Technical degree in Design, Drafting, or Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 20 years in structural design, specifically in heavy industrial or power generation projects.
• Technical Skills:
  
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with extensive 3D modeling and drawing creation experience.
  • Advance Steel experience preferred.
  • Strong background in steel and concrete detailing.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

  • Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple design packages.
