Mortgage Business Partner - Chicago

  2026-01-21     Place     all cities,AK
Description:

Summary

We are seeking a driven and relationship-oriented Mortgage Business Partner to become an integral part of our high-performing real estate team. This role goes beyond the typical "Loan Officer" position-you won't just handle leads; you will act as a genuine business collaborator, working closely alongside our agents to co-market, convert prospects, and provide reliable, tailored financing solutions. You will be the trusted financial expert for our clients, expertly navigating the unique lending landscape of Chicago-from luxury high-rise condos in the Loop to multi-unit investment properties across the city's neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agent Collaboration: Participate in team strategy sessions and open houses, serving as the visible financial resource within the real estate business and building strong, trusted relationships with agents and their clients.
  • Lead Management: Take ownership of converting buyer leads into pre-approved clients by conducting initial financial consultations, performing credit analyses, and issuing competitive pre-approval letters that help secure winning offers.
  • Chicago Lending Expertise: Handle complex local financing challenges, including non-warrantable condos, co-ops, and 2-4 unit FHA loans, which are prevalent in the Chicago market.
  • Efficient Transaction Management: Ensure smooth and timely progression of loan files from application through to "Clear to Close," working closely with underwriters and processors to avoid delays during critical attorney review and contingency phases.
  • Joint Marketing Efforts: Partner with agents to develop educational materials, host first-time homebuyer workshops, and launch collaborative marketing initiatives that drive shared business growth.
Qualifications
  • Licensing: Must hold an active NMLS License in good standing for Illinois (mandatory).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of mortgage origination experience with a demonstrated ability to self-generate business.
  • Local Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Illinois grant programs (such as IHDA) and specialized lending requirements for Chicago property types.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using Encompass (or comparable LOS), CRM platforms, and automated pricing tools.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of clearly and simply explaining complex financial concepts (e.g., DTI, APR, Points) to clients in an understandable and transparent manner.
Why Join Us?
  • Consistent Deal Flow: Access a steady pipeline of motivated homebuyers sourced directly from our top-tier real estate team.
  • True Partnership: Move beyond a vendor role to become a valued, embedded member of the team culture, sharing successes and growing together.
  • Entrepreneurial Freedom: Manage your lending operations with autonomy, supported by the resources and reputation of a leading real estate organization.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with real estate agents to provide tailored mortgage solutions that meet client needs.
  • Guide clients through the mortgage application process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from pre-approval to closing.
  • Analyze clients' financial situations to recommend appropriate loan products and terms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, real estate agents, and lending partners to drive business growth.
  • Assist in marketing efforts and community outreach to promote mortgage services and generate leads.
  • Provide timely updates and clear communication to all parties involved throughout the mortgage process.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage loan origination.
  • NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) registration required.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and assess risk.
  • Proficient in mortgage software and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and customer service orientation.
