Description:

About the job

JMP, a subsidiary of SAS, is committed to empowering scientists and engineers via our world-class family of statistical software products. For over 35 years, JMP has enabled customers to speed new drugs to market, to design better products and processes, and to figure out how to restore ecosystems. Advancements are made when brilliant people use JMP statistical discovery software to see what theyve not seen before. If you are a problem solver, a connector, and someone who enjoys helping others, then you might just be the next person to join this dynamic, growing, and global team.

Responsibilities

Shape two major product directions: Natural Language Interfaces and the JMP Marketplace. The statistical software market is shifting to conversational interfaces. JMP is building natural language capabilities that allow scientists and engineers to ask questions in plain English and get real statistical analysis back. Own the roadmap for bringing NLI features into JMP, choosing which capabilities ship first, testing them with real users, and iterating based on what works. Build the strategy for what functionality belongs in core JMP, what becomes a marketplace offering, and what third parties should develop, extending JMPs capabilities while keeping the product focused.

Required Skills

  • 7 years of experience in JMP, analytics, data tools, or a JMP core industry (Chemical, Semiconductor, CP&G, HLS).
  • Technical fluency in scripting languages (JSL, Python, R, or similar).
  • Background in statistical software, data science tools, or scientific computing.
  • Hands?on coding ability to build and test prototypes quickly.
  • Strong user research skills to validate what features actually matter.
  • Experience with API design, data connectors, or integration frameworks.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities across multiple product lines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and directly with key stakeholders including engineers, scientists, and JMP R&D.

Required qualifications
  • Masters degree or PhD in a science, statistics, engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in software, analytics, or developer tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and debug code in at least one scripting language (Python, R, JSL, or similar).
  • Experience working with technical users like data scientists, engineers, or statisticians.
  • Strong presenter and writer; demonstrated ability to present complex topics or concepts to external audiences.

World?class benefits
  • Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans.
  • PPO with low annual deductible and copays.
  • HDHP combined with a health savings account with a contribution from SAS (no access to on?site health care center).
  • Onsite Health Care Center (HQ) free to employees and family members enrolled in the PPO plan.
  • An industry?leading 401k plan.
  • Tuition Assistance Program and resources to support your development.
  • Generous time away including vacation time, a variety of paid holidays, and our much?loved U.S. Winter Wellness Break between December 25 and January 1.
  • Volunteer Time Off, parental leave and unlimited paid sick days.
  • Generous childcare benefits for all full?time employees.
