Volt is immediately hiring Manual Machinist in Bakersfield, CA 93308

As a Manual Machinist you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

• Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, band saws, chop saws, grinders, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
• Inspect and document features of the machined part (while in process and final inspection) with use of inspection equipment. Perform in process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other common measuring instruments to verify part conformance.
• Review and understand blueprints

Qualification:

• Good knowledge of manual machining applications including OD/ID turning, grooving, single point threading, boring, tapping, and surface milling on vertical manual mills.
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality machined parts with minimal supervision
• Experience with Mazak is a plus, but not required

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with a variety of machinery (Horizontal Boring Mill, Engine Lathes, and Bridgeport Mill)
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Proficient in math
• Use of gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
• Solid written and verbal communication
• Knowledge in estimating time for quoted jobs
• Role requires to lift up-to 50 pounds
• Must have your own tools for this position.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with availability to work overtime when needed

Salary Range: $50k/ year to $60k/year.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
