Your Impact:

As a Recreational Therapist with Dependable Staffing Agency, you will:

• Craft and execute specialized therapeutic recreation programs tailored to the unique needs of corrections Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, aligning your services with overall treatment plans and contributing to a cohesive care environment.
• Assess and address the recreational therapy needs of individuals, focusing on enhancing daily living skills, communication abilities, physical wellness, and adaptive coping mechanisms

Qualifications That Set You Apart:

Recreation Therapists assigned to corrections must have the minimum experience/education as follows:

1. Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution. Internship does not count towards the required experience.

2. All Recreation Therapists must have the required licenses, permits and/or certifications noted herein.

3. Patient-Inmate/Youth healthcare is of paramount importance. Accuracy in communications is critical to ensure timely, competent care is provided. Therefore, any Recreation Therapist providing services through this Agreement must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively with Correctional facilities. All Recreation Therapists must be able to speak and understand oral and written communication. Accurate and effective writing in English is also required. Any Recreation Therapist who fails to meet the minimum qualifications shall not be permitted to perform services.

4. Education must be equivalent to graduation from an accredited and/or recognized college with the major work in therapeutic recreation, or in recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation. The major must have included supervised field work approved by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC).
