Position title: Associate Director Business Development, Research Services, West Coast

Job Scope:

This Business Development (Sr.) Manager is responsible for identifying and building new customer relationships to deliver year over year new customer acquisition and pipeline opportunity growth target for Wuxi Biologics Global Biologics Research Division. The role will focus on new business generation through proactive outreach, existing client relationship maintenance, and close collaboration with the marketing team.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Generating new business from new customers through a high level of customer outreach and contact including customer visits and extensive networking activities.
  2. Demonstrating strong technical knowledge and effectively promoting WuXi Biologics' technical capabilities and specialties. Providing solution-based consultative selling to meet customer needs.
  3. Maintaining existing customers through trust-based relationships and high-quality customer support.
  4. Collaborating with marketing, project managers, and the production team to develop strategies that promote customer acquisition and retention.
  5. Collecting market intelligence with information gathering and trend analysis on the industry, pricing, and competition.
  6. Collecting, analyzing, and tracking competitors' information and business moves to help make departmental strategic plans.
  7. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree required; advanced degree in science or commensurate experience is preferred (e.g. PhD, MBA).
  2. Experience in sales or business development is a plus.
  3. Preferred background in antibody drug discovery, recombinant protein expression & purification, and knowledge of downstream pre-clinical assays.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop important relationships with customers and key stakeholders, along with good conflict management skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, with strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  6. High energy level with a strong drive for constant improvement; self-motivated.
  7. Strong team player.
  8. Ability to travel.
