Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon is located less than 15 miles south of Bakersfield, on Tejon Indian tribal land in Mettler, situated at the southernmost tip of California's Southern San Joaquin Valley. This project is the first of its kind in Kern County and will be constructed in two phases, including a casino, hotel, and event center with music memorabilia.

Position: Director - Slot Operations

Under the direction of the Vice President - Gaming Operations, this role provides leadership for Slot operations, overseeing overall management, policy compliance, security, and efficiency of casino operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and measure strategic plans and departmental objectives.
  2. Manage daily Slot Department functions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  3. Monitor internal controls and maintain integrity of operations.
  4. Hire, train, and mentor staff, fostering professional development.
  5. Maintain guest service excellence and develop relationships to promote patronage.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and technology, and evaluate their implementation.
  7. Promote responsible gaming and alcohol service.
  8. Ensure a safe, clean work environment and participate in special projects.

Qualifications

  • Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years casino management experience, with at least 2 years at the director level preferred.
  • Experience with Slot Systems, Microsoft Office, and policy development.
  • Ability to develop successful teams and build relationships with players.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in casino environments with noise, smoke, and crowds.

Preference is given to Native Americans, with first preference to members of the Seminole Tribe, and second to other federally recognized tribes.
