Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90 bed facility situated on 8.8 acres.
We offer inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency; and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification.

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such as a High School Diploma, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.
If you have previous experience as a receptionist in a mental healthcare or hospital environment or other healthcare offices, your application to this position will be moved to the shortlist of candidates.
The receptionist position must demonstrate the values of Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, which are Compassion, Acceptance, Respect, Empowerment, and Sincerity at all times.
The receptionist is often the first point of contact for all those seeking to obtain our services; therefore, the applicant must be empathetic, have excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrate professionalism, and pay close attention to detail.
The receptionist is responsible for greeting all guest, vendors, physicians, county officials, patients and staff. The receptionist is responsible for inputting data for all referrals, calls, and admitting/discharging all patients. You must be comfortable with multi-line phone system, demonstrate impeccable phone etiquette at all times, type a minimum of 35wpm, 10-key knowledge, and be familiar with the insurance verification process.
Must understand the importance and adhere to all HIPAA and Emtala laws, be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point. Must be a team oriented individual, have a flexible schedule, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The Receptionist position pays $21.00 per hour to start.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent education. Clerical certifications preferred.
CPR and Handle With Care Certifications required prior to completion of orientation.
