Examinations:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of appraising the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any of the following: investigation, oral examination and/or review of application.
Should an oral examination be necessary, the oral examination will be weighted as 100%.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:
Two (2) years of experience in park, grounds and building maintenance work to provide the required knowledge and abilities of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in gardening and maintenance work.
Appointee will be required to live in the residence on site at Lake Woollomes during the term of employment. Rent for the residence is deducted from the employee's payroll on a bi-weekly basis and the rates are subject to change. Currently, the rent for the residence is $93.69 bi-weekly and basic utilities including water, electric, sewer, trash and local telephone service are included.
Possession of a valid California Class "C" Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
Depending upon assignment, a California Class "B" Driver's License may be required.

Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
