Position Summary
As a member of the campus visit team, the Campus Visit and Event Coordinator is responsible for executing thriving, innovative, and dynamic campus visit opportunities. The Campus Visit and Event Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all campus visit events such as open houses, preview days, scholarship programs, and yield events. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-orientated, and team-oriented.
Reporting to the Associate Director for Campus Visit Programs, the Campus Visit and Event Coordinator executes programs and processes to ensure excellent service and overall experience for campus visitors. The Campus Visit and Event Coordinator works with campus partners to manage, coordinate, and execute campus visit events. This includes hiring, onboarding, and overseeing the student ambassador program to ensure all campus tour guides are conducting thoughtful, informative campus tours. The coordinator will facilitate ongoing trainings, communicate changes and program updates to ambassadors and be a listening ear for program feedback and ambassador support.
Essential Functions
1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and perform the core competencies as defined for this position.
2. Work collaboratively with Associate Director for Campus Visit Programs, Campus Visit Specialist, and other staff to set the standard for exceptional customer service practices by providing outstanding service and radical hospitality to all prospective students and their families, community stakeholders, enrolled students, college constituents, and all who interact with the Welcome Center. This includes developing relationships with a wide variety of on-campus partners to ensure strong execution of and successful campus visit experiences. - 10%
3. Plan, coordinate and execute visit experience programs including, but not limited to, preview days, scholarship programs, and yield events. Develop and cultivate relationships with a wide variety of campus and community constituencies to broaden involvement and effectiveness of recruitment during individual and group visit programs and events. Support evaluation and assessment of campus visit programs and provide recommendations for improvement to campus visit leadership. 40%
4. Manage an engaged, informative, and dynamic, student ambassador program to ensure a positive and memorable tour experience for prospective students and families. This includes hiring, ongoing training, and schedule coordination. As a leader of this program, this position is expected to role model our highest expectations of campus tours, storytelling, and representing Concordia as the Admission Office sees fit (engaging with families during campus visits, giving campus tours, etc.) 30%
5. Support campus visit programming by managing Slate functionalities for campus visit event registration, reporting, surveying, and communications. Serve as back up to Campus Visit Specialist - 10%
6. Communicate with prospective students and their families using a variety of methods ensuring needs are met and families understand the value of a Concordia education. 10%
7. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associate's degree or higher
* Ability to manage several projects and tasks at once.
* Interpersonal skills; must be able to effectively communicate with a
wide range of populations
* Ability to work independently and as a team
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute complex events
* Communication style to build and enhance relationships and engage campus partners
* Experience in working in customer service, higher education, student services or related area
* Strong executing and project coordination skills
* Ability to use systems, data, and technology to inform planning and organization of work
* Demonstrated capability to work with students and lead and manage a motivated student staff
